You can take advantage of our new FirstSpot v7 SMS Sign-up feature. Refer to chapter 3 of firstspot_guide.pdf for details. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

Currently, we don't store the SMS Sign-up phone number.
We plan to add this feature for your case. We prefer to store it in the user table fsusr instead of separate text file.
Can you give us more feedback on your usage? We want to know more on your requirements. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

Hi, I can't find the numbers in the fsusr table either. We fine to have them in the fsusr.
As we are opening our wifi for company guest, we like to know who was using the free access wifi. |

After more discussion, we find that a text file is easier to implement. Below is the patch (for v7.0.5):
http://patronsoft.com/firstspot/download/patch/706/improve_sms_signup_patch.zip
If the email sending through the email-to-sms gateway is successful, FirstSpot will write the SMS sign-up data to the file sms_signup.log under FirstSpot\log directory. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

The file is actually in csv format (though the file extension is .log). _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

Currently, "Extra Information Fields" is supported in Self Sign-up but not SMS Sign-up.
We can implement "Extra Information Fields" feature for SMS Sign-up. Note that user will be asked to fill in the mobile number + company name during sign-up. Also, since we now take advantage of the "Extra Information Fields" feature, we might need to switch to storing the mobile number back ODBC table fsusr (instead of the text log file).
Feel free to give us feedback on this. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

yes do agreed that using the ODBC table is easier for checks and administration.
any idea the costs for having the "extra information fields" in SMS sign-up? I need to know to put up as a project costing. |
