Post subject: two network cards?

Hello

I have a customer who currently has a number of unifi access points and controller. This connects to a Mikrotik router. It broadcasts three SSID's. One is for staff and is on a standard interface, the other two are on separate VLAN's with thier own DHCP servers. This all works fine with the routing and dhcp handled by the mikrotik.

We now want to add a captive portal to just one of the SSID's which is on a VLAN and used for guest access. When a guest tries to use the WIFI the portal should catch this and ask for thier name and email address when entered allow internet access. On any further visits if it is the same device it will be allowed on the internet straight away.

I have downloaded the trial software but on install it is asking for two network cards. Can this be set up with just one network card? We need to allow the other traffic directly to the normal lan.

Can we achieve this with FirstSpot?

Kind Regards

Ian

Since FirstSpot is really a gateway/router, it needs 2 network cards to function correctly.

For testing though, you can use Microsoft Loopback Adapter as Internet Network Interface. Note that in this case, FirstSpot cannot access the Internet so you can only test the FirstSpot demo page (refer to chapter 2 of firstspot_guide.pdf).
