|
|
Just started getting this error on starting Firstspot
"restart FSRedirector: Fail to lookup IP Address using DNS Server"
Was working fine, then started this yesterday
Tried using my ISP DNS servers, OpenDNS and Google public DNS, all result in the same error
Can access the internet OK from the host PC and using nslookup resolves domain names to IP addresses OK.
Using Firstspot V8.0.2 on Win7 PC, any ideas ?

You need to check the DNS specified in your Internet Network Interface side. Use the command:
nslookup apple.com x.x.x.x
where x.x.x.x is the DNS specified in your Internet Network Interface side. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

I already did that. The specified address in FS is 109.120.111.1 nslookup returned this result
Quote: | H:\>nslookup 109.120.111.1
Name: 1.sbbs-109-120-111.ses-broadband.net
Address: 109.120.111.1 |
Also tried setting my internet NIC to use Google DNS 8.8.8.8 and restarting FS, with the same result FS picks up the Google DNS IP OK but fails to start with the same error as my first post (but specifying 8.8.8.8 at the end of the error instead of my ISP's DNS)
nslookup on 8.8.8.8 returns
Quote: | H:\>nslookup 8.8.8.8
Name: google-public-dns-a.google.com
Address: 8.8.8.8
H:\> |
It looks as though it should work (and it did before) but doesn't. |

Apologies I didn't read your post properly, here's the nslookup requested
Quote: | C:\Users\WiFi>nslookup apple.com 109.120.111.1
Server: 1.sbbs-109-120-111.ses-broadband.net
Address: 109.120.111.1
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: apple.com
Addresses: 17.172.224.47
17.142.160.59
17.178.96.59
C:\Users\WiFi> |
I've emailed my config.ini as requested
