Does the client have to change its IP settings to connect to your Hotspot? or does it works either with people connecting through a fixed IP on their PCs and with people with IP set on dynamic.

the client needs to set "Obtain an IP address automatically" (i.e. DHCP client) and FirstSpot will take care the rest.
