Hello.
Is it possible to perform different types of authentication for different network segments? For example, let's say I want to associate VLAN 125 with paid access and VLAN 126 with free access. I might set up two different SSIDs on a VLAN-aware access point and then associate each SSID with either VLAN 125 or VLAN 126. This traffic would then be passed up to a VLAN-aware switch/router, where DHCP relay to FirstSpot would take place. For the segment associated with VLAN 126, we would want to authenticate from our existing RADIUS database, which lives on another server (we're a telco and ISP). For the segment associated with VLAN 125, we would want to authenticate using the local ODBC database and allow self-signup, credit cards, etc.
Is this possible or can you recommend a different approach? |

Sorry, currently you need 2 FirstSpot for that.
Since this is really a product limitation, if you can purchase 2 FirstSpot at once, we can give you a special discount. Please email us at firstspot@patronsoft.com to discuss. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |
