We are considering FirstSpot for implementation at the Grand Rapids Public Museum. We anticipate a range of users from several hundred, to several thousand. Of process, memory, storage, or one I'm missing, which would have the greatest impact on scalability? I think we're shooting for a starting capacity of 2,000 users.
Thanks |

For your case, it will be CPU-bound. As FirstSpot has many threads so it can take advantage of the latest multi-core CPU. You can start with using current generation Intel i7 or entry-level Xeon as a starting point. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

Thanks. I don't get too many trips to the plate. I must get a hit or strikeout on the first attempt. If processor is the key, then I could go with a dual processor I7 server, but would this be overkill? As a public entity our funds our limited and needs great. I have to balance the best performance I can get for the least amount of dollars. |

Yes, dual i7 will be ideal. It might be cheaper than the Xeon route too... _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |
