To upgrade from v8.0.x or earlier, you need to uninstall/reinstall. To upgrade/migrate, you need to export setting and table data, uninstall/reinstall, and then import. Note that you need to reapply your customization (instead of just copying the files from the old directory). Please refer to chapter 5 of firstspot_guide.pdf for details.
BTW, we are building a Windows update like live upgrade feature for maintenance customer in the next v8.1.x to improve the upgrade process in the future.

Just run the new setup.exe and FirstSpot will update everything for you.
Refer to chapter 5 of firstspot_guide.pdf for details.
