Running w2k adv. svr.
just started getting this error when i try to start firstspot
The PatronSoft FirstSpot Dispatcher service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 0 milliseconds: No action.
if i restart the comp. same thing
any ideas?

The error message does sometimes appear in the event log; however you can ignore it unless you experience any abnormal behaviour of FirstSpot.

Did the error appear in eventlog or from the Configuration Manager?
Any other error shown in the Configuration Manager?
Please check from the Services Manager (under Conrol Panel), to see if RRAS (Routing and Remote Access) can be started (manually). If not, please make sure all RRAS is set to 'manual start' and all its dependent services can be started before starting FirstSpot.
Please add _debug=1 into the config.ini file, under the [misc] section. Start FirstSpot again, then send us (firstspot@patronsoft.com) all files under the FirstSpot\Log directory.

we received your logs.
One minor correction, when we asked you to start RRAS, it is just a test. If you start RRAS without errors, stop it (the RRAS status should be "stopped" and "manual" before starting FirstSpot).
Then try start FirstSpot. FirstSpot will try to start RRAS itself. Send us the debug log again if you still have problems (also, please send us the config.ini).
Alternatively, we can remotely diagnose for you (e.g. using VNC). Send us the instruction at firstspot@patronsoft.com if you want to. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |
