|
|
Hello,
We are looking using firstspot to control internet access for our hotel.
To keep things simple we would like guests to be given internet access automatically (or as simple as possible) based on the MAC address. Once connected they are automatically allocated a 50MB data quota to use. Once 50MB is used the MAC is banned until midnight when the quota is reset.
Is this possible? If yes can you offer some guidance of how to set it up.
Regards,
Mac |

Yes, it is possible. You can take advantage of user attribute "Use MAC as Username" and configure user with 50MB data transfer quota.
Once we get the above to work well, you can setup FirstSpot to reset the quota daily. Note that you need to run resetABW.exe for that, see chapter 3 of firstspot_guide.pdf for more explanation. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

Go to Configuration Manager -> Users, click add user, and then select "Use MAC as Username". _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |
