I am having a small problem that I hoping someone can quickly solve for me.
I have Firstspot configured to allow free access to the internet. The user is brought to a wireless usage agreement and once they click on accept Firtspot should redirect them to my company website. The problem is once they click accept the redirect does not work, and an error is shown in the browser of "site not found". From the page not found error message the user is to browse to any webpage they want to. So NAT and proxy is working.
I checked DNS out. From the server I do an nslookup on my website and it returns the correct IP address. From the wireless client I do an nslookup on my website and it errors with no ip address found for said query.
I am using the Microsoft NAT component within the Windows 2008 system and not the Patronsoft NAT component.
Thanks in advance for all the help given. |

It is obvious there is problem with the DNS (nslookup error from the client side). Please make sure:
1) there is only ONE DNS entry in your FirstSpot Internet Network Interface. Restart FirstSpot if you need to make any changes.
2) the client DNS setting is pointing to FirstSpot Visitor Network Interface IP (default 10.20.7.1). This should be automatic if you are using FirstSpot DHCP server. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |
