|
|
We are looking at purchasing this for use in our residence halls and I have a couple questions. We would be setting it up to authenticate against a RADIUS server (Windows 2003).
1. How beefy of a machine would I need to provide 400-450 concurrent connections?
2. I'm sure that our users would like to play their XBOX Live and Playstation 3's over our internet, how can they authenticate? Can we make them register their MAC addresses and allow them to pass through while still setting bandwidth limits?
3. What is the longest that you can set the session timeout value to?
Thanks! |

1) Please refer to http://www.patronsoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1974 for an example
2) If your client does not have browser, you can use "Passive Login". Note that Passive Login does not work with RADIUS Authentication Mode though (i.e. it only works with ODBC Authentication Mode). The reason for that is that RADIUS directory is really for storing "normal" username/password instead of MAC address (like in Passive Login).
3) The maximum value for idle timeout in v5 is around 35000 minutes (around 24 days). _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

3) Correction : the maximum value for idle timeout is around 70000 minutes (around 48 days). _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |
