System should allow all domain users and only domain users to request a password.
Authentication/synchronization of domain authorized users with existing systems is required.
Security requirements:
System should log all password requests:
Who requests the password (SBT)
Date/time of request
Who password is requested for (guest)
Guest’s general information (name, company, contact info)
System should log when that guest uses the wireless system
Logs should be accessible
Logs should be maintained for a minimum of 90 days
I have been reading on V5 and found out that it appears to do most of what I am asking, can you please verify. |

Several comments:
1) If you mean Windows domain users, you can use RADIUS Authentication Mode with AD. See http://patronsoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1175 for details.
2) You can use FirstSpot features "Self sign-up" and "Extra Information Fields"
3) FirstSpot user log will record the user information like login/logout time, duration, data transfer. The information is recorded in table fsusrlog and will be there forever unless you delete it explicitly. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

1- Can you please provide some info on "Self sign-up" and "Extra Information Fields"
2- For Windows domain users, as long as the use RADIUS Authentication Mode any user in that domain can request a password for a quest user ?
3 - Can V5 log password requests, as in....who made the request, time/date....
Thanks for all your help. |

1) Please check out chapter 3 of our manual firstspot_guide.pdf (within the trial zip file). Also, you might want to test drive FirstSpot using the trial version.
2,3) You need to pre-create the user in the AD as RADIUS protocol does not provide mechanism to create user
Again, please test FirstSpot using our trial version. Some of the points you mentioned is really the limitations of RADIUS (or AD) rather than FirstSpot. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |
