1. Can/how do we allow printing for our customers?
2. Is the second processor systems still in the release 3.0
3. When is 3.0 scheduler for release?
4. Is there a way to "search" the posting/archives in the firstspot forums?
Thanks

1. where is your printer placed? let us know the topology and we can make suggestion accordingly
2. yes.
3. September.
4. the Site Search (under the wireless and security made easy slogan) won't search against the forum threads; please use the search link immediately under the Home item on the blue menu bar of our web site. Or, click on http://www.patronsoft.com/forum/search.php _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

I can locate the printer about anywhere? I can either make it a directly connected printer to the server via a parralle port, or I can set it up on a printer server with a static/reserved DHCP address. What is the easiest to set up and provide for customer printing?
Thanks

Are you goingn to charge the printing separately? Or a complimentary service for the hotspot access?
You can have your printer located in the visitor-side network (people pay when collecting print-out at counter, separate from wi-fi access); or on the public side network (can only use after login).
You can use Window's workgroup printer sharing service if it's attached to the Firstspot server (requiring client machine using the same workgroup name as the FirstSpot server); or you can use ip based print server.
One of the many possibilities: put it in the public side network, using a print server, telling your customers the ip address of that and how to configure ip printing on their OS; they can only use it after successful logins. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |
