I am getting the error "Fail to install RRAS Windows Server Role." I have made sure that RRAS was installed and I can bring up the RRAS control panel in the Administrative Tools but I can't get FirstSpot to install?
Am I missing something?

Sorry, FirstSpot v6 currently supports 32bit (x86) Windows only. You should install FirstSpot in Windows 2008 SP2.
As for 64 bit support, we will definitely support it later, but we don't have fixed schedule yet. Part of the reason is that FirstSpot is quite memory efficient, and it rarely needs more than 4G memory (which is one of main benefit of 64bit Windows).

We are evaluating a solution for one of our customers and FirstSpot looked really good! However, a big problem for us is the missing support for 64 bit OS.
Can you share an update about when there will be 64 bit support in the product?
NB: the evaluation we are doing involves > 100 hotspot locations. |

Hi
Our standard platform is windows server 2008 r2. We are now evaluating hotspot software and interested in using FirstSpot.
Is there a date for having a 64 bit version available? |

Sorry, not yet. Can you run FirstSpot on Windows 2008 32bit in a VM environment?

| For right now, i could. Nevertheless, I would like to have at least a schedule about 64 bit support availability before decide for PatronSoft FirstSpot. |

FirstSpot 64bit is definitely in our plan. It is just that we need to decide whether it will release with our next major version of FirstSpot (i.e. v7) or we will "backport" it to the current v6.

The 64 bit support will be available in the new FirstSpot v7. Please check out the FirstSpot home page soon for download instruction.
