Error installing Trial Version

We have 2 fistspot servers, but I downloaded a trial version to run on a PC windows xp for testing a backup solution. I am getting an error when installing.

"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run."

Any ideas??

First, please make sure:

1) you have Windows administrator right
2) you uninstall all previous installed FirstSpot or EaseGate
3) you don't have Apache or PHP installed
4) you run setup.msi within the trial package

If you still have difficulties, please post the firstspot_install.log file here ( see http://patronsoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2489 ).

no previous versions
no apache

Do you still have old FirstSpot driver installed? Please check it under Windows Network Connections.

i do not see another driver installed.
is there a link to version 7.0.7. the download is 7.0.8.

Please use the latest v7.0.8. Again, did you just run the setup.msi and nothing else?

Also, can you install FirstSpot in another "clean" Windows? I still think there are previously installed components that intervene the FirstSpot setup program. FirstSpot setup program in general is quite robust and it shouldn't just stop at the early stage.
