Can we use FirstSpot to create a monthly plan that is automatically billed via PayPal or credit card?

Yes. Make sure you select "Recurring payment" under Shopping Cart tab of Configuration Manager.

I was reading the manual and read the following:

Please note that, FirstSpot does not support “recurring payment” for PayPal Website Payments Pro Direct Payment, Google Checkout and Authorize.Net currently.

Does this mean that recurring payments are only available with PayPal Website Payments Standard?

If so this means the checkout pages cannot be customised. Do you plan to add support for recurring payments using PayPal Website Payments Pro or express checkout?

Yes, currently "recurring payment" only works with PayPal Website Payments Standard.

Can you explain your background a bit more on why you want to use "recurring payment" with PayPal Website Payments Pro?

We wanted to be able to keep our branding throughout the payment process and want to be able to sign people up to a subscription.
