Post subject: Exception free problem

Hi guys,

I am having problems with getting the exception free websites. Particularly on mobile devices, I have a few exception free links on the login page and some work on a laptop but not at all on a mobile device. All links are added into the allowedhostskeywordsofficial file.

Paypal link works but links I have added in myself either don't work at all, or don't work on mobile devices.

Any recommendations?

Cheers

Please don't add them in the .txt file directly.

You need to add them under Configuration Manager, and then restart FirstSpot.

Hi Alan,

I tried the method you suggested but had problems with that too. On a laptop the exception free link works, however on a mobile it doesn't load initially - but when you are past the captive portal the free website link you clicked loads up?

I have followed all of the instructions in the manual for setting up these exception free websites but have had problem after problem so far.

It's standard, I haven't made any changes to this file as I followed your advice above. Still got the same error.

Please advise

Please post both AllowedHostsKeywords.txt and AllowedHostsKeywords_official.txt, we need the information to troubleshoot.

Can you talk me through the entire process of making exception free websites work? Because it clearly doesn't work when following the user manual, there is no mention of anything else you have to do to make it work.

But I notice Paypal has various other sites that it needs - is this the same as websites I want to put in exception free? As I said there is no mention of additional websites or keywords needed in the user manual.

From your files, you haven't add any domain through Configuration Manager UI. Are you using you are adding it correctly?

E.g. if you want to add google.com, just go to Configuration Manager -> Exception Free Websites -> Domain name, add the below domain:

google.com
www.google.com

click save and restart FirstSpot.

Yeah I removed everything to start from scratch so it would work.

When I entered the website into there it doesn't work. Can you confirm the process you have to go through? Do you have to put websites that are on the free one into the exception list too? Also do you have to enter addresses for where the images are located on the particular free site?

Yes, you do need to put the image URL in the Exception Free Websites if they are from some different URL.
