This will define which particular network segment that a user can allow access. Note that this feature is valid for "Multiple Network Segments" setup only. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

i have been checking out all the features and i am impressed with how useful this software is.
there is mainly 1 feature i think it is lacking for the perfect program.
is there a feature that can apply a burst connection on a per user level?
example,
user logs in and for the first 20Mb the connection is 1Mb/s after that it goes down to 200Kb/s
if it is not there could it be considered to be added?
it can be improved to have a time as well to help with users not using all the bandwidth if they are streaming movies.
it would be something like for the first 50Mb the connection is at 1Mb/s after that it is 100Kb/s.
if you could get it to work properly with your throttle feature then that would be good and make both amounts custom
example,
Bandwidth throttling:
after (custom 50Mb) throttle (custom 100Kb/s)
improved example,
Bandwidth throttling:
customer downloads/uploads (custom 50Mb) in (custom 5 minutes) throttle (custom 100Kb/s)
the more custom options the better it is for everyone |

FirstSpot has a similar feature known as "Restricted Account". The idea is that the user throttling will apply if he used up his access minutes, quota, etc...
Refer to chapter 3 (Users section) of firstspot_guide.pdf for more detailed description. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

can you tell me how that will work with disabling the account when an amount is reached?
TOTAL
Enable data transfer counter:
Yes and disable the account when the counter exceed the below quota (K Bytes) 102400
Restricted account - When restricted account option is set, if the access minutes or data transfer quota is used up
the system i am looking for is,
user is given 100Mb
after 20Mb the connection is throttled to 50Kb/s
will this cause a problem with not resetting the counters?
i have set the option to never reset counter.
if a user gets another 100Mb will the option after 20Mb throttle to 50Kb/s be applied because 100Mb has already been used? |

The idea is that instead of disconnecting the user completely, FirstSpot is applying throttling to that user.
So if the user has 100M quota, he can use it in normal speed. After the 100M is used up, instead of being disconnect, he can continue to use FirstSpot but with reduced speed. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |
