Post subject: Top Banner problems

I have been using FP 6.0.6 advance edition, for banners at my property using just Image.
I wanted to start using the Html (iframe) on your latest version 6.0.9
This is on a fresh install on windows server 2003 R2 w/ all the security updates.
but the banners never come up on iframe or image for version 6.0.9.
I have tested on 3 different laptops. using google chrome & IE.

I did test the iframe out some on version 6.0.6 and some sites did not work right. like zgatlinburg.com , facebook.com , yahoo.com does on google chrome not on IE. Just to name a few. ( just used your defalt page you have for iframes, I have not changed that page sample_top_banner.php)

It is quite hard to make all the sites work due to the nature of the web.

Anyway, I am a bit confused on your statement. So which sites do not work? What browser are you using?

Looks like one of the stability fix in v6.0.8 triggers this issue.

You can download the below patch (for v6.0.9 installation only):

http://www.patronsoft.com/firstspot/download/patch/6010/patch_top_bn.zip

Please give us feedback on whether this patch fixes your issue.

Ok I have tested on iframe setting 728 x 90.

here is what I'm finding using IE & google chrome (GC)

foxnews.com works fine

foxbusiness.com does not work with Chrome

cnn.com does not work with Chrome

Facebook.com does not work with either browser. note: sometimes they will come up.

yahoo.com does not work with chrome on main page

google.com does not work with either browser. note: video.google.com an error shows on the top page both browsers

zgatlinburg.com they work on both browsers but the page is refreshed every second.

gatlinburg.com works fine

espn.com works fine

We cannot reproduce your problem in cnn.com, foxbusiness.com.

We are working on a fix for video.google.com, zgatlinburg.com.

As for other web sites, some of them have complicated JavaScript and also performance issue. We are looking into them.

For users of v6.0.9, please download the below patch:

http://www.patronsoft.com/firstspot/download/patch/6010/patch_top_bn4.zip

This should fix most of the issues with In-Browser Message -> Top Banner.

We will incorporate the above fix in v6.0.10.
