Post subject: Auto Login ?

Hi,

Is there any way I can issue certain users with an option to auto login?

I have 6 directors to our organisation, and they are already getting stressed that they have to login everytime they want to use the system (I dont really want to have to systems and have to install another private company AP in the board room when I already have excellent coverage in there from my firstspot conected AP's)

I was thinking about an internet shortcut placed on there desktop (manually editored for them) that would pass over the login details when they double click it?

Any ideas on how I could achieve this?

I tried http://10.10.10.1:5788/fs_login.php?username=xxxx&password=xxxx

but it did not work..

Am I barking up the wrong tree here, or is there another way (I am only talking 6 users)

Thanks

Correction it does work but you need to add all the hidden fields as well in the shortcut......

FirstSpot version 3.0 will allow pre-defined machines to access the Internet without logins.

In version 2.0, one of the workarounds is to install a small freeware called curl and make it login to FirstSpot. You can make a shortcut icon on the desktop and let your directors to click on it to login automatically. Please refer to this thread for details:

You're right, having all variables (including those hidden ones) in the URL also works.

Thanks,

All I need now is an idiots guide to scenario 3 of the firstspot install...

I have 3 remote sites (each with a simple VPN ADSL router and 1 AP attached, no static IP's)

My base site has a fixed public IP assined to my ADSL Router with all ports forwarded to my Firstspot server

I want those sites to authenticate with my Windows 2003 FirstSpot server ???

Any step by steps available on this type of config?

Thanks

Post subject: Running Curl login script over ssl

Hi,

I'm trying to run a script which will test a login, download and finaly logout steps to make sure that my HotSpot is functioning 100%.

To do that I'm using Curl script.
It works fine when I'm not turning ON the SSL option in FirstSpot.

I turned ON the SSL option in FirstSpot and follow the Curl HTTPS manual usuing the following example:
curl -E /path/to/cert.pem:password https://secure.site.com/

I use the privatekey.PEM file located in the FirstSpot/www/apache directory.

What I'm missing here is the password for the private.pem file.

Where can I find it? Does anyone use Curl script with SSL ?

Regards

Assaf
