How does FirstSpot control the number of users beyond 253?

FirstSpot says it can handle an unlimited number of users. However, if the default Class A IP range is 10.20.7.1-10.20.7.255, and with a segment of 255.255.255.0, this would only allow for 256-3=253 users (-1 Broadcast,-1 Subnet,-1 Static IP adress for FirstSpot). How can you increase the number of users if the DHCP is controlled by the FirstSpot host server's IP range? In your example from the "FirstSpot Guide" Dated : November 19,2004. Version 3.0, page 23, you have 2 segments coming off a router connected to the FirstSpot Server. All of these segments and their clients must howerver gateway through the FirstSpot's DHCP server. How would FirstSpot's DHCP server handle, lets say, 500 customers?

E.g. you can set the Private Network Interface IP to 10.20.7.1 and subnet mask to 255.255.0.0. FirstSpot DHCP server will give out IP in the range of 10.20.x.x (~ 65535 IPs).

Note that the above setting is not really related to page 23 of the firstspot_guide.pdf you mentioned. That diagram primarily deals with Scenerio 3 : Centralized Network Topology. The IP range that FirstSpot DHCP server will give out to the "non-local" segment (i.e. in the above example, the local segment is 10.20.x.x) is determined by the Multiple Network Segments setting rather than the Private Network Interface IP and subnet mask.
