Hi there,
I came across this product through a recommendation in a computer mazine. I am planing to setup a HotSpot server to provide free internet services to our staff who use notebook/PDAs.
My company is situated in a commercial building whereby outsiders may able to access our wireless facilities without our knowledge. Hence I hope to protect this service from outsiders. Can your software do:
1) MAC address filtering and user authentication together.
2) Dynamic IP address allocation based on a given pool of MAC addresses.
Please advise.
Thank you. |

1) FirstSpot does not block a particular MAC, but rather it uses MAC to identify client PC (we call it session handling). The user authentication mechanism is username/password.
2) You can define Static DHCP assignment if you know the MAC address in advance. Check out FirstSpot DHCP Server static mode within firstspot_guide.pdf for details. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |
