All FirstSpot features should work with most (if not all) network cards.

Can you be more specific on your problem? Do you have problem with bandwidth throttling? Or data transfer counting?

Bandwidth throttling not working rtl8139 a and d-link dfe-530tx card. Both are pci cards It will not throttle at any speed per host. I have a 5mb/ 384 kbps connection. It counts the data but just wont throttle. Will it work with rtl8139a cards?

Can you give me exact name and model of just a few cards that are known to work with the throttling of bandwidth?

I assume you are using v3.0.4.

FirstSpot will work with rtl8139 card as Private Network Interface.

Please use NetMeter to test the actual bandwidth. To measure upload bandwidth throttling, install NetMeter in FirstSpot machine's Private Network Interface. To measure download bandwidth throttling, install NetMeter in the client side.

I see were people get the mis-conception bandwidth is not working. your software measures in kilobytes and most ISP's measure in kilobits. Can the software measure in kilobits (kbps), becuase 20 kilobytes is approximately 130 kbits (kbps) download. If I setup the server 20 the client gets 130kbps both way. I was hoping to be able to limit clints down to 56 kbps upload and 128 kbps download.

You can set upload as 7KBytes/sec and download as 16KBytes/sec for your case.

Note: The lowest value of bandwith throttling is 2KBytes/sec which is 16Kbit/sec.
