Post subject: Paypal return process

Hello every one.

We are trying your software and we are almost sure about implementing FirstSpot in our system.
There is only one part of the process that we can't make work: The Paypal return process.
I'll try to explain how our system is setup:

FirstSpot server:

SHOPPING CART ITEMS:

1 Hour connection -> Based on plan 1
2 Hours connection -> Based on plan 2
3 Hours connection -> Based on plan 3

PLANS:

<PLAN 1>

Account is disables: NO
Account is active: WHEN IT IS CREATED
Conditions to suspend this account: WHEN AIR TIME CREDIT IS USED UP. INITIAL TIME ASIGNED = 60 min.
Bandwith Throtling: Up.= 13 Down.= 26
Enable data transfer counter: NO
When to reset data transfer counter: USE GLOBAL

and the same with the other plans (the only difference is the amount of minutes)

In the CREDIT CARDS TAB, the PAYMENT GATEWAY is setup to PAYPAL.
The PAYPAL ID is setup to our bussines account.
The SUCCES RETURN PATH is setup to the default setting: http://local_IP:5788/cart.php (same as failure return path).
The THREAD PENDING TRANSACTIONS AS COMPLETED is setup to NO.
The BASE CURRENCY is setup to EUR.
The PUBLIC ACCESIBLE URL TO RECEIVE TRANSACTION UPDATE FROM PAYPAL is setup to http://public_IP:5789/ppal_ipn.php.
The TRANSACTION UPDATE MODULE LISTENING PORT is setup to 5789 and
The TRANSACTION HISTORY TABLE NAME is setup to ppal.

In Paypal, we have activated the "Instant Payment Notification" and in the IPN URL we have tried to leave the field empty
and we have tried to write the URL that appears in the "PUBLIC ACCESIBLE URL TO RECEIVE..." (http://public_IP:5789/ppal_ipn.php)
with the same result:
After we create a user (self sign) and buy time, Paypal does not send the information to the FirstSpot server, so the user
can't get time in he's/she's account. Even if the user already exist. The transactions are OK. The user pay for the item and the
bussinnes account gets the payment, but no time is added to the user account.
Could you please help us to make it work ?
Thanks in advance.

PD: If you need futher information or log files, please be welcome to tell us.

Best Regards, Miguel

Hi

I am assuming that you are using a verified paypal account with IPN feature turned on.

There are few things to verify:

1) go to firstspot/www/apache/logs, open the access.log file and see if there is any POST back data to the ppal_ipn.php file from payapl.

2) Can you find paypal_txn.log file under firstspot/log directory?

3) check your public ip is accessible from the internet and there is no firewall.

please refer to chapter 7 of firstspot_guide.pdf

Jason
