redirect to login page not working

I searched thru forum and not founhd my issue.

My issue is, If i have my home page setup to www.nvcw.com i can get redirected to login page with no problems, if the home page is blank or a different URL it wont work, i get page cannot be displayed.

I verified this on 3 different computers.

where is it that its pulling www.nvcw.com.

I disabled the offloading on my NIC and rebooted, still same thing

what doi need to do??? help please

What do you mean by "if the home page is blank or a different URL it wont work"?

Note that if the home page is blank, of course you won't see anything.

If for different URL you don't see the FirstSpot login page, then most likely to have a DNS problem.

Can you try the following command in the client PC and post the result:

ping apple.com
ping www.nvcw.com

Also, please post the ipconfig/all dump in the client PC.

If the home page setting in internet explorer is let as blank or has any other URL besides www.nvcw.com it wont go to the login page, you put www.nvcw.com as the default home page and then when you open IE you can get to the login page and everything is fine.

i cant ping apple.com i get "unknown host apple.com
when i ping www.nvcw.com i get "request timed out" if i login i can get to the nvcw.com webpage with no problem.

Since you get unknown host error when you try to ping apple.com, it is very likely there is a DNS problem. Please :

1) try to ping apple.com in the FirstSpot machine, tell me the result
2) post your config.ini file
3) post the ipconfig/all dump of the FirstSpot machine

The problem is your DNS setting in the Public Network Interface of the FirstSpot machine. Instead of 192.168.2.106 (which is FirstSpot itself!), it must a be a DNS from the ISP.

why would it only work with www.nvcw.com as the home page, nvcw.com has to be some where????

Make sure you restart FirstSpot. You have to make sure you can resolve apple.com (after you start FirstSpot). If the FirstSpot machine cannot surf to the Internet, of course the client PC cannot surf the Internet

The reason www.nvcw.com works I think is because you host the web site in your office? Ignore what you see about www.nvcw.com, I am quite sure that your DNS setting is wrong.

well i had to put ISP DNS on both NIC's, we dont host nvcw.com in house.
So im not sure why that is like that.
