Post subject: NEW : Unable to redirect webpage - URGENT PLEASE

Hello,

I installed on FirstSpot on MS windows 2000,
My first problem was with my Internet Prodiver IP (10.0.0.2 default gateway 255.0.0.0) and IP of FirstSpot (10.20.7.1). so I changed the FirstSpot IP address to 20.20.7.1 After this change, I arrived to start the FirstSpot service.
The next problem on the client's computer, i ask for www.yahoo.com URL, i see the FirstSpot page, i fill the login and password (sample/password) and i never see the yahoo.com page.
I already read the other points about "Unable to redirect webpage", I arrive to select, insert and update users

I'm interested in buying the full or standard version after to resolve the problem

Help please :-)

Did you see the redirection page? (You will be rediect to the original web site ......)

Can you access to any of the exception free websites? (i.e. www.google.com)

Most likely is a RRAS problem.

Please refer to http://www.patronsoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=673&highlight=rras
and session Pre-installation preparation in readme.rtf.

I started "Routing and Remote Access service" manually as a test -> NO PROB with this service

Now, after a God intervention, don't ask me, we can access to the free site. Thx God.
But the other web site always on the redirection page. :-(

Make sure you turn off the ICF/Windows Firewall and RRAS service as well as set to manual.

try something other than www.yahoo.com as your initial url, a few customers experienced problems when using www.yahoo.com as the initial url.

FirstSpot is installed on MS windows 2000 pro SP4,

-> we dont have ICF/Windows Firewall on.
-> RRAS service is not started when we boot the Windows 2000 but once we start FIrstSpot, the RRAS start.

Please zip and send us the following files to firstspot@patronsoft.com for further investigation:

1) all files under \Firstspot\log directory
2) config.ini under \Firstspot directory

Thank you

We received your log files, thanks.

There are two reasons i can think of:

1)The RRAS or TCP/IP stack might be corrupted in the "Windows 2000 SP4 English version " machine.

2)20.20.7.1/24 are internet resolvable addresses, you might have routing problem with this setting.

Private Networks are specified in the RFC1597
10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255
172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255
192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255

Let me know what you think
