Post subject: Redirection not working

Hi,
We have the following setup. Windows 2000 server running patronsoft (dhcp and dns). Wireless AP connected directly to one NIC card of server and a wireless laptop. After installation both the AP and the client have been assigned ip addresses through patronsoft dhcp. I am able to ping the server as well.

I am however unable to get the http://serverp_ip/firstspotdemo page or redirecting on any url.

I AM however able to access the login page if i mention the port i.e
http://server_ip:5788/
which goes to the login page.

Please help.

cheers
Kartik

Can you access Exception Free Website like google.com? How about normal site like yahoo.com?

Also, you shouldn't http://server_ip:5788/ directly. It will not work.

No, accessing http://server_ip:5788 directly will not work after login. Trust me on that.

So fix your Internet connection first so that you can test using Exception Free Websites.

True, it will not work after login. What i meant that was typing that as the url gave me the login page.

I am going to try with loopback now.

I have configured loop back as the public adapter (for testing). I am still unable to redirect any page to the login.

I think you might encounter the offloading problem. Refer to readme.rtf for details.

Just to make sure, you are using the URL http://169.254.25.129/firstspotdemo to access the demo page, right?

We have experience on issue with disabling offloading on Intel card in the past. Try to:

1) use "DisableTaskOffLoad" method specified in the readme.rtf to disable offloading. Sometimes, the Intel Network card properties do not work well

2) upgrade/change your Intel card network card driver. Some Intel driver is known to have difficulties on disabling Offloading.
