I think your school hotspot is not configured properly.
Since patronsoft.com (and google.com, for that matter) is in the Exception Free Websites by default, you might be able to access google.com too (if it is not changed by your administrator).
There are several reasons for this problem. One of the more common one is due to the Offloading setting. Check out our readme.rtf for details.
