Invalid login! Please try again...
Am running an original copy of Firstspot.
Am getting this error on a client machine using the latest Internet Explorer(IE) even though the username & password is correct.
Tried it on another machine and it works fine.
I have read- http://www.patronsoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=246
I don't understand. I have reset the the IE settings to default. Still no changes. How to enable session cookies?
Could viruses and spywares on client machine lead to this error?
Thanks!!

The default IE setting should work for FirstSpot. Are you sure there is no personal firewall that blocks session cookies?
Also, go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Privacy, pull the bar all the way down to option "Accept All Cookies" as a test. See whether it helps. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

Yes. There is know firewall installed.
All cookies accepted.
However there are worms and viruses on clients pc.
A lot of clients are complaining the same. Could there be any setting on firstspot that i have missed?

Can you disable the firewall as a test?
Also, it is hard for us to move forward unless there is a reproducible case. Is there any pattern in the client PC that will break FirstSpot? _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

The problem resides within the user cache. I don't know the exact fix but here is a blanket repair:
Go to Tools, Internet Options
Delete files - that ususally fixes it. However, it's not a bad idea to delete history also and reset the number of days in memory to 0. We usually have them delete cookies too but I don't think that applies. |
