This is a known problem.
We have a patch for v4.0.1 users. Here are the instructions:
1) download the patch at http://patronsoft.com/firstspot/download/patch/401/settingok.zip
2) unzip and copy the file to FirstSpot\cfgmgr directory
This problem will be fixed in v4.0.2.
