I am stucked. Please help...

Hi Alan,

Since a week I've been searching throughout the forum to solve my problem and found many similar problems to mine. Follow any available instruction... but still stuck.

Internet is OK at the FS server. DHCP works find but:
-login page only appear after pressing 'refresh' 2 or 3 times
-successful authentication and user status appeared in FSconfg man. but redirection failed.

pinging to any website from client is ok. many times client can access yahoo.com.. even google seem not to work. But I wonder why is this 'tamanbunga.com' can always work very well?

Looks like you have a routing issue.

Can you do the test specified in http://www.patronsoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1619#1619 ?

Unless you want to dig deep into Windows configuration and you know the intricacy of Windows networking really well, sometimes it is much easier if you install FirstSpot in a fresh Windows.

Sorry for late reply. Anyway thanks for keep updating me..

Until this post, I am still facing the same problem. I done the instruction about RRA manual test, format my server and reinstall the windows. but this time I installed winxp pro sp2, instead of win server 2003.

the sympthom is still the same.. but i found this message in the event viewer:

"The Computer Browser service terminated with the following error:
This operation returned because the timeout period expired."

I also tried to browse www.patronsoft.com from the client, but fail.

Are you sure the DNS setup is correct? Note that FirstSpot will obtain the DNS setting from Public Network Interface during startup, so it is imperative that your DNS setting is correct.

Please try the following commands in both FirstSpot and client PC:

I didn't make any significant changes but only add the IP 192.168.1.1 (my router's IP and also DNS for Public NIC) as alternate DNS server IP for FS, via the config. manager and let 0.0.0.0 as preferred DNS server IP, which refers to FS and private NIC itself.

Anyway, I post the result for FS which you request for. Please make any correction if necessary..

I will post the result for Client PC later... I would like to do it from the client and see if it is working.. ;)
