Apache Problem

Hi,

I am running version 4 (registered) on a XP Pro machine, the Apache server keeps shutting down, these are the erros I get:

From The Event Viewer:

Faulting application Apache.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module ApacheCore.dll, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x0002ed38.

Fault bucket 185285543.

The Apache service named Apache.exe reported the following error:

From The Apache Log:

What do I need to do to fix this?

What version of FirstSpot are you using?

Have you turned on SSL for FirstSpot login page?

I am using v4.0.4 of First Spot, and Yes, SSL is turned on.

We did have some report of problem of Apache regarding SSL.

I sent you a link for a yet-to-release update that fixes that issue. Please test it and give us feedback.

Received the update, when I ran the install I got an error that a file "trialmode.dll" could not be found. I checked the installation folder and the file is not there. Please send it to me.

I did, install went fine. Reset all the info and received this error when I tried to start First Spot:

Fail to start Named BIND DNS Server

Are you sure you uninstall completely?

Also, make sure you are not running other DNS server (e.g. MS DNS).

I used the "UnInstall FirstSpot"

You need to check manually after you uninstall.

Your Windows is kind weird. Do you have any PC with a "clean" Windows that you can use as a test?

After the uninstall, reboot Windows. Then make sure all the FirstSpot related services are deleted. In particular, make sure the below services are deleted:

Apache
ISC BIND
PatronSoft FirstSpot DHCP Server
PatronSoft FirstSpot Dispatcher

Also, are you sure there are no errors during reinstall?

Same Error, I did the UnInstall and double checked both the "Services" and the entire hard disk for anything relating to Apache or FirstSpot and found nothing.

Strange. We seldom encounter this error.

Can you post:
1) The firstspot_gw_srv_[timestamp].log under FirstSpot\log directory
2) ipconfig/all of your FirstSpot machine
