Post subject: Removing non-functional accounts.

Because FirstSpot doesn't automatically remove non-functional accounts I purge the users at least once a day. When removing the users, FirstSpot notifies me that so many users were "forced to logout" and then gives the total of the accounts deleted.

Why are these users forced to logout when I delete the non-functional accounts and not automatically logged out when their time has expired and they are converted to "non-functional"?

Thank you

Hi Don,

I would like to know how did you purge the users? You delete them through our UI or you write your own script to do it?

If you do it with our UI, did you delete the users that are online mistakely?

In general, firstspot will suspend those users who commited the account conditions but not "disable" the account.

Cheers,
Philip

Post subject: Non-functional accounts

Philip:

I search for the non-functional accounts under Users and FirstSpot shows the accounts which are no longer valid (accounts which have no time left I assume) and displays the list. I then select "All" and delete all of the accounts.

FirstSpot then displays a message in the message area at the bottom of the screen (see the example below). My question: what is the status of the 4 users who are forced to logout before their account is deleted? Are they online? Why are they forced to logout if their account is non-functional according to FirstSpot?

4 user(s) are forced to logout before account deletion. 12 user record(s) are deleted

Thank you,

Hi Don,

Did you use the "No. of logins left" condition?

The problem most likely is belongs to "No. of logins left".
When the user was logged in, firstspot will minus one from the "logins" fields in database.
Therefore, if the user' "No. of logins left" is equal to one when the time he/she logins, the "No. of logins left" will minus to zero and Firstspot will mis-interpret the user account as non-functional and actually the user is still online.

Cheers,
Philip

No, I have never used the "number of logins condition".

Thanks,

Hi Don,

I am sorry that we cannot reproduce your case in our lab, if it is possible for you to clarify the way to reproduce your case, so we can troubleshoot your problem.

Cheers,
Philip

Post subject: Non-functional accounts

I am not sure how to tell you to reproduce non-functional accounts who are still allowed online. I just deleted another 8 accounts with 3 of them showing the time that their account ended, however, in looking at the status it showed they were online.

One for approx. 12 hours, one for 20 minutes.

Do you want a screen shot of what I am seeing?

Thanks,

Post subject: Accounts Never Expire

I am having the same issue, even after redoing the shopping cart & plans.

I can't find any posts on the subject except for yours.

Could you tell me how you fixed it?

Thanks,
Steve
