User Login Fails

Hi there,

i'm trying FirstSpot to check all the features. I would like to create a service for about 5 hotels in The Netherlands with HotSpots.

In the Trial version, when i make a new user in administrator, everything goes fine. When the user logs in on the hotspot for the first time, everything goes fine as well. But when the users logs out en try to log in again, he will get the message that login fails in the main screen, but the infobox is popping up and saying that login succeed and is giving the remaining time. Is this only in Trial mode or is it a little bug? :-)

This is not normal.

What is the exact error when you login the second time? BTW, what step do you use to logout in the first place?

In the logon screen the user will get the error that login fails, while the infobox will popup and say that login succeed.

I tried to logout from the infobox as well by typing logout in the url box in Internet Explorer, the user get the page that he's logged out, but in administrator the user have status online.

Can you post the log file firstspot_gw_srv_[timestamp].log under FirstSpot\log directory? Make sure you perform the above sequence once before posting the file.

This is the log for today, I tried it again a few minutes ago. First time logging in goes fine, logging out goes fine also, only logging in again fails. The main screen will say "Invalid Login"..

Looks like the database operation has failed. Couple of things:

1) Have you change the default ODBC datasource? Try to use default setting as the initial test.

2) Are you using username called "d.koorn"? Try to add a plain username (i.e. without the dot) and test again.

1) Everything is standard as it was from installation, using the ODBC datasource.

2) I made a new user, but also that user is not able to login, it gets the same message as the 'old' user, Invalid Login. When i Restart the server, the user can login for one time, and that's it...

Also, when i give a correct username and an invalid password, the infobox will come up and show unlimited air time.. Only the main screen will say that a invalid login is provided

If you still have problem, you might want to check out http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307455/EN-US/ and http://groups.google.com/group/borland.public.delphi.database.ado/browse_thread/thread/2718bfc95daf0bba/114970511f226a2a?lnk=st&q=15877+dbase+xp&rnum=2#114970511f226a2a. You need to add a BDE entry in the Registry and assign a value of 2.

It seems that this problem only happens in XP with SP2, and with Office 2000 or 2003 installed.

Yes, I have Office 2003 installed, I'm testing the program on my notebook.

Now it's working perfect!
