Post subject: Product features verify please reply Urgent

I would like to ask, just because I think this tool will be able to help and provide the solutions that my client need.

My client need a totally zero installation for the user side. Meaning that no login no authentication and no MAC register operational process. Then everyone will be allowed to go into the network. It is just like a hotspot. After all, the system administrator will be able to monitor the users activity and disconnect them immediately if something wrong. By exploring the features of firstspot, just want to verify from you that, is that mean if I add all of the IP, 10.10.10.1 ~ 10.10.10.254 to the IP addresses for client pass through(under sessiong handling) then everone with DHCP assigned IP will be able to go to the Internet without prompting them the login screen? and another question is, If i do it this way, will i be able to track their internet activities and block certain user from connecting to the network? Please advise. Thank you.

The closest thing I can think of is the feature Anonymous Option. In that case, user needs to click an ok button in the web page before he can proceed to surf the Internet.

Refer to our manual firstspot_guide.pdf for details.

You can use Passive Login, but you do need to know the MAC in advance.

The passive login is it under the session handling? Where can i locate this features? between... I would not know the user MAC adress because they do not want the pre MAC register process. Any suggestion? Can you explain to me about the IP based pass through? is it when i add the ip that can pass through then it will not show them the login page again? please advise. I am proposing the thing now and they will need it by tomorrow.

Passive Login is under Users category.

Client pass-through (IP or MAC) is really designed for "fixed" equipment like printer. You will lose most of the user attributes.

for this setup you want, what i would do is just use a professional router and/or access point like [product name deleted] (indoor, outdoor and pc software for building router/ap by yourself) or lobometrics (outdoor equipment). and use its buitin features. or any other kind of comercial ap.

because as alan said, if you use passthrough you will lose almost all firstspot features, and when passthrough is altered (ie, kick out an offending client) firstspot needs to be restarted and this will turn all your network down for a few minutes.
