Other Gateway

Can I use other gateway as the setting for the clients or FirstSpot should always be the gateway?

For Scenario 1 ( http://www.patronsoft.com/firstspot/topologies.html ), yes FirstSpot will always be the default gateway for client PC.

For Scenario 3, the router will be the default gateway for client PC.

I suggest you start with the simpler Scenario 1. Please following instruction in Chapter 2 of firstspot_guide.pdf. You should be able to use all default settings as a start.

I have already tested the scenario 1 and it works great. I think I may want to use scenario 3 because I want to keep my original gateway not the FirstSpot gateway. That's why I ask first if I could change the gateway entry for clients first.

While FirstSpot does not need to be the default gateway for client PC in Scenario 3, it needs to be in the outgoing path for the client PC.
