I recently tried the firstspot v5 beta on server 2003 r2 and during the installion of the network drivers, it caused my server to bluescreen.
Any help would be useful as i am looking at purchasing Firstspot v5 in about 3-6 months after the weather starts warming up and repeaters are setup across the city.

Try to:
1) uninstall FirstSpot first (you might need to clean it up manually since your setup has crashed. See http://www.patronsoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=6647#6647 )
2) make sure only TCP/IP network driver is selected for your Private Network Interface (i.e. hotspot side). See readme.rtf for details.
3) now try to reinstall FirstSpot.
Please inform us whether you solve your problem _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

I have tried all the above aforementioned possibilities and still the system crashes, same error message, i tried the program on another server of the exact same make and specs and it also crashes. What other ideas might you have? |

This is due to driver issue. BTW, in your Event log, I can only see the error code. Which component is causing the crash?
Did you get the network driver from the Broadcom site, or it is auto-install from Windows?
Also, does your system has some kind of network utility (similar the HP Network Configuration Utility mentioned in the readme.rtf) installed? Usually, this kind of utility comes with your machine install. Please uninstall it and try again. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

the drivers are from the manufactures sites, they are the most up to date drives available, there isnt any network utilities installed on either machine. the installation goes ok up until the point of installing the 5th network driver for firstspot, when that occurs, the systems crashes and performs the memory dump stating that it was caused by a driver that is not compatible with the system. |

5th network driver? Is there more than 2 Broadcom network cards in your system? Can you post the ipconfig/all output?
BTW, the blue screen will usually show which component is failing (instead of just the error code 0000000a). Can you go to Event Viewer to check and post the error event here? _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

The other thing you can try is to put another card in the system (e.g. Intel, 3com, Realtek). And then reinstall FirstSpot and make sure you pick this card as the Private Network Interface (it is okay to use the Broadcom card as the Public Network Interface).
Please inform us your result. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |
