Post subject: log info

I did a fresh install and here is the only thing that shows up in the txn.log file:

PayPal : Tuesday 13th of November 2007 11:36:39 PM - Fail to update superuser account!

That's it.

I put 47 minutes as the amount to be added in PLAN A
I entered a basic Paypal account
I added Plan A to the shopping cart for the cost of 1.00

Please download the following file: http://patronsoft.com/firstspot/download/patch/501/ppal_ipn.zip

Then, unzip it to FirstSpot\local\ folder. The file ppal_ipn.php will be updated. Next, please perform the test and post the error log messages (with personal and network related information being removed) here again.

Post subject: fresh install plus patch

Did the fresh install plus applied the patch and still no-go. Do I have to do a reboot or does a "restart" do the job? I just noticed that it showed a "payment amount mismatch" probably due to the tax applied. Is there something you can do to compensate for that?

Here is the log file.....

Sorry, I forgot to state that the file is just a version to show up related logs for your problem.

You're right. The tax value is added which makes the actual amount of payment shown in PayPal different from that in Shopping Cart, causing failure of updating the user account.

Please download the following file: http://patronsoft.com/firstspot/download/patch/501/local.zip

Same as before, please unzip it to FirstSpot\local\ folder. The files ppal_ipn.php and transaction.php will be updated. This time the file is really a patch for PayPal and this issue will be fixed in v5.0.1 for all types of payment gateways.

Updated the files but still comes up "failed" even though it says completed in the transaction log.

Do you want a copy of the text from the log?

Post subject: got it working

I copied the "local" folder from the Beta version over to the ver5 "local" folder which copied over all the Paypal information.

It is now working but the question is.....was there a security issue with the beta version ?

Yes, so please try not to use the files from any previous versions in Final Release.

For your PayPal account settings, is there any extra charge included besides tax rate?

Also, I would like to have a check on FirstSpot's configuration. Could you set up remote desktop / VNC connection in the FirstSpot machine and e-mail the information to dwong@patronsoft.com?

Under no circumstance that should you copy the files from the old beta 2.

Again, please double-check:
1) it is a clean install of v5 final
2) no customization of php and html
3) no copy files from v5 beta 2 and other version.

Otherwise, we won't be able to help you anymore.

Post subject: re-configure

ok, I just wanted to confirm that everything I was doing was entered correctly and that the PayPal portion of the program was working since there are variables in that part also....I didn't know if it was a FS thing or a Paypal thing that's why I did it. Now I know.

So, I'll do a re-install but you need to tell me what you want...do I re-install Server 2003 then the FS software or just uninstall FS and re-install? After I uninstall do I do a reboot of the computer or just re-install immediately?

I can't do this tonight....it's already 11pm and I work at 6 am so I can try this tomorrow evening.

Our system is behind a router so VNC won't work but I can put it on a private IP if that works for you. I'll need to know when you wish to attach so I can set it up.

I sure wish you guys had "live chat" or some way to communicate in real time. I did offer to phone you if necessary.

G.
