Post subject: multipul network segments

Hi can you point me to a step by step on how to set this up also can you tell me how to stop people using the network without paying i.e from point a to point b we operate a large network and suspect that we have users who are using romet desktop etc without loging on.

Hi Alan thanks for your quick reply
yes but that only gives a brief outline our problem is that we can't take the system off line for testing to see how it works eg what gives out the ip addresses do we switch off dhcp in firstspot and do the routers do this instead?

Hi Alan ok we need a lot more information we have tried setting up as you have shown in the manual but this does not work firstspot only sees the ip of the first router and if on person logs on then all access is free as it sees this routers ip and how do we get the different ip ranges for each segment.
etc

You need to :
1) turn off NAT within your router
2) have a router that support DHCP relay
3) setup Multiple Network Segments setting correctly.

Again, chapter 4 of firstspot_guide.pdf should have all the details you need.
