Hi,
Hope this isn't a stupid question.
I'm trying to help a local ISP that wants to deploy wireless 1st in just a few locations and then grow to more and more hotspots, using most likely Centralized Network Topology. Since it appears all the traffic is routed through a single PC running FirstSpot (compared to a hardware solution), won't these slow down the total bandwidth available to clients at times? (Server would be something like P4 2.8 - 512MB running XP)
Respectfully,

You can set up a toplogy where only outgoing internet traffic will pass through FirstSpot while the returning traffic will take another route.
We can send you a sample toplogy diagram on that.

Yes please send me a diagram, with some text explaining it in laymen terms (as much as possible).
Respectfully,

PS (The concept sounds good, we just want to make sure it will fit the needs, & yes we are aware of the trial download, but don't know if we can create a testbed that would accurately simulate the real world conditions.) |
