Howdy Guys,
Been trying to get FirstSpot to work with IAS. I did a clean install of Windows 2003 Server and FirstSpot 4.0.1.
When I use ODBC as the Authentication Mode it works fine. I can access everything when I log in as user "sample".
Without changing anything else I try RADIUS as the Authentication Mode. After typing in my Active Directory username and password, I am redirected to an Apache error page:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, firstspot@patronsoft.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Apache/1.3.33 Server at 10.20.7.1 Port 5788
I double checked my IAS config and it looks good. I even checked event log and can see that IAS is granting my Radius login.
Looking through the apache logs shows no errors.
But I did find the following in my firstspot_gw_srv_2006.04.14_14.58.15.log file:
14/04/2006 15:14:51 ** <==checkRadiusPacket
14/04/2006 15:14:51 ** AuthLoginRADIUS: Access Accepted
14/04/2006 15:14:51 ** RadiusAuthWriteToDB: SQLExecute[INSERT INTO fsRadius ( name, reserved1, timeleft, btul, btdl, accumbw, bwquota, bwcount, accumbwUL, bwquotaUL, bwcountUL, reserved2, sessionID, acl, pagenum ) VALUES ( 'rhicks', '165574970774528', null, -1, -1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1145052891, 1145052891, '] Fail
14/04/2006 15:14:52 ** RadiusClient - radius server : 157.246.4.22
14/04/2006 15:14:52 ** RadiusClient - localhost 10.20.7.1
14/04/2006 15:14:52 ** RadiusAuthWriteToDB: SQLFetch[SELECT timeleft, btul, btdl, accumbw, bwquota, bwcount, edate, accumbwUL, bwquotaUL, bwcountUL, acl FROM fsRadius WHERE name='rhicks';] Fail
Looks like FirstSpot is having issues inserting records into the fsRadius table.
BTW, I tried a complete reinstall from scratch of both Windows 2003 and FirstSpot twice.
Any help would be appreciated. |

I found this in my event log. What process is this? How do I fix it?
Event ID: 7022
The PatronSoft FirstSpot Dispatcher service hung on starting.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. |

Your IAS need to reply FirstSpot an attribute "FS_AUTH_ACL" and it cannot be empty(either char 'Y' or 'N').
For your automatically start issue, plz refer to this link below:

You have not provided enough info to properly implement this.
When adding "Vendor-Specific" attributes to IAS the following info is required:
1. Vendor-Assigned Attribute Number
2. Attribute Format
3. Attribute value
I did a search on your forums, on your website, and in the PDF. "FS_AUTH_ACL" is not mentioned anywhere. Why is it not documented if it is needed for RADIUS support?
I don't have time to "guess" how this is supposed to work. |
