|
|
when the dispatcher service tries to start I get a popup window (the red circle with white X) saying:
firstspotcon.exe - Entry Point Not Found
"The Procedure entry point DetectReadPCISlotInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library netdtect.dll"
This POPup occurrs twice each tim the service starts, however afterward the Configuration Manager page says the service is running and I can get the login screen and successfully log in but the client machne can't find any sites. The fact that I can't browse seems to be a DNS issue but the POPup warning upon startup has me concerned.

Looks like FirstSpot is not installed correctly. Please to reinstall FirstSpot. Better yet, try to install in a "clean" Windows (i.e. just the Windows and correct SP).
BTW, what Windows version are you using? _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

hi again alan,
I formatted my disk and reloaded everything from scratch. The only software I installed other than Windows updates iis the Patronsoft but I still get the exact same error
firstspotcon.exe - Entry Point Not Found
"The Procedure entry point DetectReadPCISlotInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library netdtect.dll"
Any suggestions?

Have you installed 2000 SP4?
Also, make sure your network card driver up-to-date.
BTW, what is the chipset of your Private Network Interface? Try to switch network card to set whether problem persists. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |
