This might be a silly question, but I'm trying to figure out if its possible to have a couple linksys access points share the same SSID. I plan on having one main access point connected to the computer with Firstspot and the broadband connection. I'd plug a second AP into a lan port of the main AP and possibly a third as a repeater (not hardwired)
I know that its possible for the repeater to share the SSID of the main AP using WDS but I'd like the hardwired access point to have the same network name but without the bandwith limitations of WDS.
Still new to all of this. I appreciate any help you can give me. |

Christian,
What I would personally do is have all 3 APs connected to a switch, and then connect the switch to the LAN side of PatronSoft. It will work this way, I have ran it that way forever.
NOTE: Make sure that you are using straight up access points, NOT access point/routers. They may cost less, but it would require lots of configuration that I'm not even sure how to do. With straight-up access points, assign them the same SSID, and then an unique IP and it'll be fine. _________________ Jeremy Eisenzimmer
