My company uses our clients mac adresses for a passive login so they don't have to log in every time they go online. Recently and on more than one occasion, Firstspot has "dropped" a clients mac adress keeping them from getting online until we re-enter their mac address on Firstspot. I was wondering if anyone has run into this problem and if so, how do you fix it? |

What do you mean by "dropping"? Does the MAC user disappear from the user list?
Note that the idle timeout mechanism will disconnect users once there is no activity from a particular MAC address for a period of time (the default is 5 minutes). _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

By "Dropping Macs" I mean they seem to dissapear from the list of passive logins. I realize that if the client side is idle for 5 minutes they will be dissconnected, but that doesn't mean their mac address will be erased from firstspot. If that was the case, we would have to re-enter every single mac address every day. |

You mean the Passive Login username disappears from the User list (not Status)? BTW, what version of FirstSpot are you using? _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |
