Post subject: Dropping macs

My company uses our clients mac adresses for a passive login so they don't have to log in every time they go online. Recently and on more than one occasion, Firstspot has "dropped" a clients mac adress keeping them from getting online until we re-enter their mac address on Firstspot. I was wondering if anyone has run into this problem and if so, how do you fix it?

What do you mean by "dropping"? Does the MAC user disappear from the user list?

Note that the idle timeout mechanism will disconnect users once there is no activity from a particular MAC address for a period of time (the default is 5 minutes).

By "Dropping Macs" I mean they seem to dissapear from the list of passive logins. I realize that if the client side is idle for 5 minutes they will be dissconnected, but that doesn't mean their mac address will be erased from firstspot. If that was the case, we would have to re-enter every single mac address every day.

You mean the Passive Login username disappears from the User list (not Status)? BTW, what version of FirstSpot are you using?
