after upgrade
C0-A8-00-B6-00-00 Tue Jan 09 10:23:48 2007 Tue Jan 09 11:01:22 2007 38 11.83MB 8.24MB

All mac addresses now start with C0-A8

Maybe someone is spoofing the MAC address? Please use tool like Ethereal to monitor your network. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

Actually, this is the first time we encounter this.
The only thing I can think is because the Standard to Advanced Edition upgrade will enable previously disabled features to come alive, some settings you change a while ago get triggered after the license upgrade. Still, I am not sure which feature that causes the problem...
As a test, you might want to revert the license key back to the Standard Edition to see whether the problem persists (in that case the timing is just a coincident).
BTW, are you using IP or MAC based Session Handling? Any special customization you apply to FirstSpot? _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

Hi Alan
the only feature we are using in the full version that was not available in the light is ip based Session handling which we need for some equipment attached to the system, i will switch this feature over to mac based at our next shut down in 10 hours and see. thanks
one other problem which we have currently overcome by restarting the firstspot computer is when we upgraded to 4.12 from 4.07 we found that Firstspot would just stop at random intervals after 24 hours of operation
when wwe tried to restart first spot it would say that the private network adaptor was disabled which was not true, we would then carry out a full restart of the computer and every thing would work ok. since we intalled the new full version key we have not tried to run the first spot computer for more than 24 hour without a restart. any thoughts?
Thanks

It is hard to say. I think there is some settings within your system are bothering FirstSpot. You might want to reinstall FirstSpot to clear up your problem. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |
