I still suspect it is your network problem. Maybe you should double-check your hardware stability?

When you put FirstSpot in your network and the problem occurs, it doesn't mean that it is FirstSpot that is causing the problem. It still might be a general network setup issue.

I suggest you have some networking people to take a look at your network. In particular, you need to narrow down the issue at bit, at the time of failure:

1) is DNS still working? Please use nslookup command to check.
2) how about routing? Please see http://www.patronsoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1191

ok heres the deal the internet is working fine dns is not going down nor is it loseing the number however when i install first spot the problem starts up that every 5 or 6 minutes when i have more than 5 clients on the internet goes down and the computer that sits right beside the server directly connected to the dsl box still has its internet ... this is not a hardware problem im pretty sure of it after i had 3 people look at it with the same results ... they all said the same thing im saying right now.. that when i install first spot this problem starts up

We need more precise information (rather than just saying "Internet goes down"). When you have problem again, can you (please post the output):

1) ping FirstSpot Private IP from the client?
2) nslookup apple.com from client?
3) nslookup apple.com from FirstSpot machine?
4) ping apple.com from FirstSpot machine?
5) ping apple.com from the client?

Also, can you post your firstspot_gw_srv_[timestamp].log under FirstSpot\log directory for further analysis (at the time of failure)?

alright when this happens

ping responds to clients from server
ping responds from clients to server
firstspots login interface works ..
ping from clients to Real dns server Fails
Ping from server to Real dns Server Fails
Ping from server to apple.com fails
ping from server to yahoo.com fails ..

however when i release and renew the ip number on the public side
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
the internet comes back up for about 5 to 6 minutes then goes down again

now when i run standard ICS internet Connection Sharing
this problem does not occur and when i run first spot and have this problem i tested to see if mabey it was my internet connection however the computer that i have plugged in right next to the server wich is plugged into the same dsl line does not go down ..

my dispacher service and dchp service DO NOT crash when this happens

This moves a bit closer to the solution. I strongly suspect it is routing problem. Can you post the output of the following commands (issue in the FirstSpot machine):

1) ipconfig/all
2) route print

Your IP setting looks normal as far as I can tell.

But how come your prompt is "Microsoft(R) Windows DOS"? Also, can you post your firstspot_gw_srv_[timestamp].log as stated above?

Ignore the timeframe, just post your current firstspot_gw_srv_[timestamp].log under FirstSpot\log directory.
