Did you uninstall other FirstSpot component manually? Note that you should uninstall by : Start menu -> Programs -> FirstSpot -> Uninstall FirstSpot _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

Below are the steps to remove FirstSpot manually (especially take a look at point 6):
1) Delete FirstSpot subdirectory (e.g. C:\Program Files\FirstSpot)
2) Delete FirstSpot Program Group in Start menu
3) Remove firsthop driver using "Network and Dial-up Connections". Go to the properties of any network card, click firsthop driver, click uninstall. You
should also remove the firsthop.sys files (under windows\system32\drivers) and firsthopsetup.inf, firsthopsetup.pnf (under windows\inf). Rebooting Windows is recommended if you remove any driver.
4) Remove FirstSpot related Windows services, which includes (this list will change from version to version):
a) Apache
b) ISC BIND
c) PatronSoft FirstSpot DHCP Server
d) PatronSoft FirstSpot Dispatcher
Refer to Microsoft Documentation on how to remove a Windows Service. You can also use sc.exe from Microsoft SDK or XP to remove Microsoft Services.
You need to also make sure there is no "Apache HTTP Server" left-over. Go to Add/Remove Programs and Windows Service to double-check.
5) Remove FirstSpot related Registry entries
6) Remove any FirstSpot setup program. Please go to Add/Remove Programs click on FirstSpot->Remove, sometimes Windows will remove the entry for you if your FirstSpot directory is removed.
As a last resort, you need to go to Registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall) and your Windows directory (\WINDOWS\Installer) to delete FirstSpot setup manually. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |
