Post subject: account won't update with time paid for

I just installed version 5 advanced edition and now the paypal activities don't work...here is a copy of the txt.log file:

PayPal : Saturday 10th of November 2007 10:39:29 PM - Fail to update hello60 account!

Hello 60 is the name of the account I created....everything appears to be like I had it in the ver5 Beta but since I put in the final version the accounts won't update their minutes or show "completed" in the credit cards log.

Please choose "Yes" for "Treat pending transactions as completed" in the Credit Cards tab if the transaction status shows "Pending", but if the field leaves blank, you may need to check if your Paypal settings are correct.

Post subject: I tried that

I get the same result....is the txn.log file supposed to show about 20 lines of transaction information or does that indicate a total failure of the data coming from paypal? I can get it to show either about 20 lines of information or nothing but the above error message depending on my paypal account name that I use. If I knew what to look for in the log file it would help to know if I am on the right track.

Also is the Instant Payment Notification return field supposed to be blank or do I put in the //xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:5789 address in there? Do I include the :5789???

last question: In the credit card page , what do I enter in the "Publicly accessible URL to receive transaction update from PayPal" field....
is it supposed to be http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:5789/ppal_ipn.php or do I only enter the ip address without the :5789 etc or just include the :5789??

Post subject: one more thing

One of my names for the paypal account comes back "failed" and the other gives me a blank space in the status window. I assume the one that says "failed" is the closest of the two.

Any info would be of great help....I've had this program since September and haven't had a chance to even use it yet.

Isn't that FirstSpot and Paypal already worked before ( http://www.patronsoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2034 )? What did you change? What is the exact version of FirstSpot are you currently using?

Post subject: new install

Yes, it was working before with the ver 5 Beta then I installed the latest version from your website and lost all the settings. I re-installed windows 2003 and re-installed FS but now it doesn't update the user's minutes.

On the credit card page .... log .... it still shows:
PayPal : Monday 12th of November 2007 12:19:53 AM - Fail to update hello80 account!

Post subject: paypal update

I re-installed the version 5 Beta and the paypal information updated the minutes of the user and said "completed" in the status bar of the credit card page.

Then I exported the data using fsset.exe and imported it back into the current version 5 and updated the settings to the exact ones in the Beta version......didn't work. It still says "failed" in the credit card log and the minutes did not increase.

Is this a bug?

Post subject: only one?

I can't be the only one having this problem....the 5.0 Beta works fine with the paypal information I provided

The 5.0.0 Advanced version will NOT updates the user's minutes or show "completed" in the status (under the credit card log file) but shows "failed" instead even though the transaction works.

Any ideas? I've tried everything I can think of. PLEASE HELP!

Refer to your case returning "Completed" in v5 Beta 2 but "Failed" in Final Release, please check the following lines of logs printed right after the line with "Failed to Verify Transaction" in txn.log:

1) Does "item_name" match the plan name shown in Shopping Cart?
2) Is "mc_gross" value same as the price shown in Shopping Cart?
3) What is the value of "payment_status"?

Post subject: log info

There is nothing else in the log except that one line.

Can I just copy the "local" folder from the old version to the new version?

You're not supposed to do so as many files have been modified from Beta 2 to Final Release.

Please try to have a clean-installed Final Release. Then, input necessary PayPal settings manually and create a simple plan (not using fsset during the whole process) as a test to see if FirstSpot works under basic conditions first.

Post subject: log file

Here is a copy of my log file...the first line using the correct account name...notice that it only says that the entry has failed....from the second line down is what gets entered if I put in the INCORRECT account name (so I can see the info).

mc_gross is what I see on my Paypal screen where I enter the credit card information, not what I see on the shopping cart. I removed personal information from this file.....

NOTICE THAT IT DOES SAY "completed" !

But first, have you do a "clean-install" of the v5 final release and input necessary PayPal settings manually (as mentioned by Dominic)?

We won't be able to offer much help unless you follow our exact steps.
