Hi,
We have bought firstspot version 5 and would now like to use mysql database. I tried to download version 4.0.x but it is discontinued from mysql website. Does version 5 work with newer versions of mysql?

Yes. Refer to v5 readme.rtf for the exact version of MySQL FirstSpot supports.
