The URL is http://your_private_ip:5787 (you can check the Windows shortcut FirstSpot created after setup). _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

Hi,
I tried to access the configuration manager with the private ip and port number but I get message that it is forbidden --
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /setlogin.php on this server.
How can we solve this problem?
Kind regards,

You should select "Allow configuration manager access from Wi-Fi Hotspot". Also, please restart FirstSpot to have the setting take into effect.
Refer to chapter 3 of firstspot_guide.pdf for details. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

I thought selecting "Allow configuration manager access from Wi-Fi Hotspot" would make it more vulnerable to attacks and hacking. Does it control the access (i.e. I wanted to have access from a specific ip address only) only within the private network or once I select this option it becomes available to everyone i.e. all desktops and laptops? I tried looking into adding htaccess etc but that does not seem to work.
Kind regards

Well, the risk shouldn't be too high as long as you protect your password. Still, you might want to allow Configuration Manager access from the public network (i.e. Internet) side for remote access.
Sorry, we don't support per-IP access control, and we don't recommend you to temper with the .htaccess file. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |
